We’re into the second set of group stage games at UEFA Euro 2024, and it’s safe to say that this tournament is already exceeding expectations. We’ve seen incredible moments take place across the last week or so and as we look ahead to the immediate future, it feels like more of the same is on the way. The primary hope, moving forward, is that all of their changes behind the scenes won’t impact what they’re trying to accomplish on the pitch. After all, you could make a good argument that this is actually their best squad in years.
Poland and Netherlands went toe to toe in what proved to be yet another fun game at these European Championships. The Poles took the lead after just 16 minutes but when the Dutch started to get going, the match really began to turn, with the boys in orange taking home a 2-1 win.
France Form GuideLes Bleus fought hard to keep hold of their position as world champions but in Qatar, they wound up falling at the final hurdle. The next step in their journey takes them to the Euros, a competition that hasn’t been great to them in recent years. They still have one of the best squads in world football, though, so you can imagine they’ll be feeling somewhat confident.
Austria and France battled it out in a really competitive affair to kickstart their respective runs and, in the end, it was an unfortunate own goal that sealed the deal in a 1-0 win for France. For the former world champions, though, the big worry will be the injury sustained by Kylian Mbappe.
Match PredictionThis is the game that everyone has been waiting for in this group and we’re pretty excited to see how it all plays out. We’re expecting them both to really go for it in pursuit of that top spot, which should lead to one of the games of the tournament. Therefore, we’re going to predict over 2.5 goals scored.
