With the majority of top leagues across Europe coming to an end, it’s time for Major League Soccer to step up. There are plenty of reasons why this campaign has the potential to be incredibly exciting but beyond that, it’s just been nice to see the continued growth and development of the game in North America. Today, we’ll be taking a look at the upcoming clash between Los Angeles FC and FC Dallas.
Los Angeles Form GuideIt’s tough to build consistency in a league like this one but in recent years, Los Angeles FC have been able to do just that. Between cup wins and long playoff runs, their fans have been treated to some great times. Now, it’s all about sustaining that. They still have a lot of quality in their ranks but with the Western Conference getting tougher and tougher, they need to stay focused.
LAFC are currently in 3rd place in the West which, by their standards, is pretty solid, but they’ve got plenty of time to shoot even further up the rankings. They have eight wins, three draws and four losses at this point in the season, but they’re also one of the highest scorers with 27 in 15 games.
Dallas Form GuideDallas edged their way into the playoffs and finished in seventh spot in the Western Conference - with some arguing they didn’t belong there based on the campaign as a whole. In the playoffs, in all fairness, they did well to take Seattle to a third game in their best of three series - but they came up on the losing end. Now, it’ll be interesting to see how they bounce back.
While they may have only played 14 games, Dallas haven’t put forward a great account of themselves. They have three wins, four draws and seven losses to their name, and they’ve only been able to score 17 goals. Whatever they’re doing right now, it isn’t working.
Match PredictionWe’re at the point in the MLS season now where it’s time to start really making some noise, and it feels like these two sides are aware of that. They both have attacking threats and in this game, we expect to see them showcase that. Therefore, we’re going to shoot for over 2.5 goals scored.
