We’re in the endgame now, ladies and gentlemen. The Premier League season is entering the final furlong with just a handful of games remaining for clubs up and down English football’s top tier. Whether it be the title race, the relegation battle or anything in between, there’s still a lot left to be determined. Today, we’ll be taking a look at the upcoming clash between Everton and Nottingham Forest.
Everton Form GuideEverton manager Sean Dyche isn’t the kind of guy to let his team go quietly into the night. With that in mind, and with their legal situation still ongoing with the Premier League, we’d argue that the club feeling ‘slighted’ could really help them in the months that lie ahead. There’s no guarantee of survival in a division like this one, but for some reason, they just don’t know how to quit.
Everton’s only victory in their last six games was a narrow 1-0 triumph over Burnley. They’ve also managed to earn a point in a 1-1 draw with Newcastle, but there hasn’t been much to smile about aside from that. They’ve been beaten by West Ham (3-1), Manchester United (2-0), Bournemouth (2-1) and Chelsea (6-0).
Nottingham Forest Form GuideWith their points deduction now confirmed, Nottingham Forest need to focus their attention on survival. Nuno Espirito Santo certainly has plenty of reasons to feel confident given the squad he has at his disposal, but at this point in the campaign, there are so many uncertainties in the air. Hopefully for their sake, they’re able to put up a real fight between now and the end of May.
After losing 1-0 to Brighton, Forest went on a three-game unbeaten streak as they drew with Luton and Crystal Palace before beating Fulham. They went on to lose 3-1 to Tottenham, but soon managed to bounce back with a 2-2 draw at home to Wolves.
Match PredictionEverton and Forest have both been punished by the Premier League and there may yet be more to come for them in the future. So, all they can really do is focus on accumulating as many points as possible. In our view, the likeliest outcome here is over 2.5 goals scored.
