Bologna are in 3rd but have two teams chasing them down, and it's now out of their hands. That came on the back of a dramatic game on Monday night, where they threw away a huge lead. On Friday night they end their season with an away trip to face Genoa, a side just in the bottom half of the Serie A table.
Genoa Form GuideCurrently in 11th position, it will either be 11th or 12th for Genoa, depending on their result here and how Monza do, who begin the final weekend one point behind Genoa. It's been a solid season, in the middle of the table and there's a lot for Genoa to be pleased with from this season, as well as having small areas they can improve on.
They've won two of their last four games, and taken a point from a draw, seven points from four games is a very respectable total, especially when you consider they're little to play for. But they do come here on the back of a loss, a 1-0 defeat away from home against Roma, though there is no shame in that.
Bologna Form GuideDid Bologna miss their big chance on Monday night. They were 3-0 up at home to Juventus with 20 minutes to go, taking a big step towards 3rd, and it would have been in their hands. But now it's not, a 3-3 draw in that game, they're on the same points as Juventus and two ahead of Atalanta, however, Atalanta have one game extra to play, so would go 3rd with two wins.
Bologna are unbeaten in nine games, which is very good, but draws have held them back from claiming third. They have drawn five of their last seven games, had any one of those been a win, then they would have been in control of their own destiny coming into this game.
Match PredictionA huge game for Bologna. Win and they've got a chance of third, but it's not guaranteed. I think they will win, even though they suffered a blow on Monday, so it's a Bologna away win on Friday night for me.
